Time to exhale

A change is in the air...the nights are getting cool and the first frost warnings have been sent out.  Our maple tree is even starting to show some signs of red on a few leaves...soon the transistion from the crazy days of summer will be complete.

I welcome Autumn...I love this season.  I love the colors, the crisp cool air, the shorter days and the return to rain and the waiting to see which morning we'll see the mountains kissed with white above our cabin.  It is puzzle building, quilting, reading while curled up under a warm blanket with a hot cup of tea weather! What is not to love?  In truth, I love all the seasons, and I also love living in a place were we experience them fully.  It's good to be reminded of the natural rhythms sometimes.  We can too easily live our lives in false realities of technology today--that is why my computer sits right next to the window...every time I look up I'm reminded.

This year we got to harvest our first apple!  (yes, just one) but we are thrilled!  We've been waiting for many years for our apple trees to get big enough to start producing...and we hope that there will be many more next year!
Also with the help of the birds that we put seeds out for, we also got to enjoy the largest sunflower we've ever had grow...I love that the birds were helping our garden along this year!

And of course, what kind of blog post would this be if I didn't also include a few projects that I've been working on?

I know I don't update this blog as much as I would like to..but I hope you'll visit me at my website as well as here if you're looking for more of what I'm up to:  www.ladybugscabin.com
It is hard to keep every ball up in the air sometimes!
Happy Autumn!!
